INFORMATION TEXT ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

Purpose of the Information Text and Our Company’s Position as Data Controller: Our company, Teak (“Teak” and/or “Company”), is considered as a “data controller” under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“Law”), and this Information Text aims to inform customers about the personal data processing activities conducted by Teak in accordance with the Law.

Purpose of Processing Personal Data of Customers: Personal data of customers are processed by Teak for the purpose of carrying out the necessary works by its business units to benefit relevant individuals from the products and services offered by Teak, conducting the relevant business processes, executing commercial activities carried out by Teak, planning and execution of Teak’s commercial and/or business strategies, and ensuring legal, technical, and commercial occupational safety of Teak and those related to Teak, within the framework of the conditions and purposes for processing personal data specified in Articles 5 and 6 of the Law. Detailed information on the processing of personal data can be accessed from Teak’s Policy on the Processing and Protection of Personal Data under Law No. 6698.

Personal Data to be Processed with Explicit Consent of Customers and Purposes of Processing: The personal data to be processed in line with explicit consent and their purposes of processing are stated in the Consent Text.

Transfer of Personal Data of Customers: Personal data of customers may be shared with Teak Inc. company officials, our affiliates, business partners, suppliers, shareholders, legally authorized public institutions and organizations, and private institutions within the framework of the conditions and purposes for processing personal data specified in Articles 8 and 9 of the Law, for the necessary activities to plan and execute for ensuring the necessary works by its business units to benefit relevant individuals from the products and services offered by Teak, conducting the relevant business processes, executing commercial activities carried out by Teak, planning and execution of Teak’s commercial and/or business strategies, and ensuring the legal, technical, and commercial occupational safety of Teak and those related to Teak.

Method and Legal Reason for Collection of Personal Data: Personal data are collected electronically from customers. The personal data collected for the legal reasons stated above can be processed and transferred for the purposes stated in this Information Text and the Consent Text where explicit consent is required.

Rights of Customers as Personal Data Owners: According to Article 11 of the Law, data subjects have the right to (i) learn whether their personal data are processed, (ii) request information if their personal data have been processed, (iii) learn the purpose of the processing of the personal data and whether they are used in accordance with their purpose, (iv) know the third parties to whom personal data are transferred domestically or abroad, (v) request the correction of personal data if they are processed incompletely or inaccurately and request notification of the operations made to third parties to whom personal data have been transferred, (vi) request the deletion or destruction of personal data if the reasons necessitating their processing cease to exist despite being processed in accordance with the provisions of the Law and other related laws and request notification of the operations made to third parties to whom personal data have been transferred, (vii) object to the occurrence of any result that is to their detriment by means of analysis of personal data exclusively through automated systems, and (viii) request compensation for the damages in case the person incurs damages due to unlawful processing of personal data.

Requests related to the exercise of these rights can be communicated by personal data owners to Teak by the methods specified in the Policy on the Processing and Protection of Personal Data under Law No. 6698 by Teak. Teak will evaluate these requests and conclude them within 30 days. Teak reserves the right to charge a fee based on the tariff (if any) determined by the Personal Data Protection Board regarding these requests.

CONSENT TEXT ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

Our company, Teak (“Teak” and/or “Company”), being a “data controller” under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“Law”), aims to obtain the explicit consent of customers for the personal data processing activities conducted by Teak and specified below in accordance with the Law.

For the situations mentioned below where the conditions for processing personal data specified in Article 5/2 and 6/3 of the Law are not met, it is necessary to obtain the explicit consent of customers for the processing of their personal data by Teak. While data processing activities within the scope of the Information Text continue for processes that do not require explicit consent, data processing in line with the fundamental principles specified in the Information Text is also conducted for processes that require explicit consent.

In this context, personal data of customers will be processed by Teak in accordance with the purposes and procedures specified in Section 3 – Article IV of the Policy on the Processing and Protection of Personal Data under Law No. 6698 by Teak. Accordingly, personal data will be processed and may be shared with the parties specified in the Information Text for purposes including but not limited to creating campaigns for customers, offering special opportunities by Teak business partners for Teak customers to use at Teak, cross-selling, determining target audience, tracking customer movements to enhance user experience, improving the operation of the website and mobile application of Teak and personalizing it according to customer needs, conducting direct and indirect marketing, personalized marketing and remarketing activities, conducting personalized segmentation, targeting, analysis, and internal reporting activities, conducting market research, planning and executing customer satisfaction activities, customizing and recommending products and services offered by Teak according to the likes, usage habits, and needs of the related individuals, and planning and executing customer relationship management processes, as well as generally planning and executing the sales and marketing processes of Teak’s products and/or services, and planning and executing processes to create and/or increase loyalty to Teak’s products and/or services, subject to the consent of the Customer and for the purposes aimed at in this Information Text.
